- How do I post a secret ?
Just click the ‘Post a secret’ button on the top-left corner of the screen and write your secret to the world. Click ‘Send’ when you are done.
- How can I be sure that my secret will be displayed ?
- Your secret must be clear and well-written (try avoiding sms writting and spelling mistakes)
- Your secret has to be in English
- Ungeneric: secrets like ‘I love…’ do not fit the purpose of the application
- Personnalized: make your secret as personal as possible
- Don’t use inappropriate langage
- Maximum length of secret is 220 charachters
- And obviously, it has to be a secret
- How do I follow the secrets I have hugged ?
Just click the ‘My Hugs’ button on the top right corner of the screen. The secrets you have hugged will be displayed.
- Where is the ‘Top 10 secrets’ section ?
The ‘Top 10 secrets’ list is available in the ‘My Hugs’ section. You just have to tap the ‘Top 10 secrets’ section there.
- What is the ‘i’ section ?
The information button on the bottom-left corner of the screen allows you to quickly see the number of people using the application, the number of secrets posted, the number of hugs an the number of times secrets have been read.It also allows you to see the number of people that have seen your secret(s) and the number of times you have been hugged.
The most ‘hugged’ secret and the most read secrets are also displayed at the bottom of the screen.
- How do I navigate between secrets ?
You can use the ‘Next’ button on the bottom right corner of the screen but if you like to browse the secrets freely, you can point any area on the planet and the corresponding secrets will pop-up.
To get in free mode, just tap outside the blue zone where the secret is displayed making the secret window disappear.
Once you are in free mode, you can zoom on specific parts of the world and tap the screen in the zone you are interested in. Some people have pointed out that the free mode is still inaccurate, we will try to address this issue in an update.
- How secrets are moderated ?
We try to be as permissive as possible in accepting the secrets you send us but we still have to moderate for inappropriate content.
If your secret statistics in the ‘i’ sections don’t display anything a day or two after your post, it means it must have been refused by moderators.
- What is my screen name ?
You screen name is the nick name you entered at the application first launch. Avoid using your real name if you want to stay anonymous.
- Why is there no section in the application where I can see my secret(s) ?
For privacy issues, we designed the application so that it won’t be possible to find the secret you posted, keeping it anonymous. However, you can stumble upon your own secret(s) by browsing the planet.
